The tractor season kicks off: the role of DEUTZ Italy

by xBJ1R439wX

The tractor season has kicked off. Therefore we would like to recap and talk about the role DEUTZ Italy plays in this industry.

Tractors are at the heart of every farming and agro-mechanical enterprise, helping to efficiently and productively carry out land preparation and cultivation operations, as well as road transport activities.

Over the years DEUTZ Italy has actively focused on the development of efficient and high-performance solutions, partnering with some of the industry’s leading players such as Argo Tractors SpA, Antonio Carraro and Carraro Agritalia

In this way we are able to offer a suitable product for any operation.

But it is mainly the applications for the specialised tractor segment that have a list of dedicated products that we would like to present:

  • Argotractors TCD 2.9 (in HT and HP versions): the HP version is the engine of the Landini REX4 RoboShift Dynamic, winner of the award Tractor of The Year 2024, in the Best of Specialized category. Among the aspects evaluated positively by the international jury were the characteristics of the engine, awarded for its high efficiency, both in terms of performance and reduced fuel consumption and emissions, thanks to its full compatibility with HVO (Hydro-treated Vegetable Oil) fuels;
DEUTZ 4 cylinder engine TCD 2.9 L4 (AGRI)
  • Antonio Carraro TCD 2.9 (in HT version on Tony V8700 and in HP version on Tony V11700): Carraro’s first adventure within the specialist segment where for the occasion Deutz was chosen as the market reference;
Antonio Carraro Ton V V8700 with DEUTZ TCD 2.9 HT engine
  • Carraro Agritalia TCD 2.2: used for the specialist narrow-track model produced by the manufacturer which, by virtue of the strategic agreement with Antonio Carraro, will be marketed by Antonio Carraro.

The strengths of Deutz engines for the tractor industry

DEUTZ engines dedicated to the tractor segment rely on a number of key features that have made the products launched on the market stand out:

  • Wide range of 2.2l to 7.8l sump engines, all with StageV/Tier4 emissions;
  • The ranges up to 3.6l feature a compact EAT system for installation under the bonnet. This detail improves visibility while driving and during practical work operations.

Key customers in the agricultural machinery industry (telehandlers, mixer wagons, harvesting machines) include Faresin and Ortomec, with the following applications:

  • Faresin TCD 3.6 L4 on Leader PF Classic mixer wagon;
  • Ortomec TD 2.9 L4 and TCD 2.2 L3 for harvesting machines.
